We are Cristen and Miguel. We live in Austin, Texas. We like to feed everyone. We also like to spread the word about just how delicious vegan food can be. We do this on Sundays.

Here is how our potluck works:

1. We post the theme, along with any other Sunday dinner updates.
2. You post a comment saying what you plan to bring.
3. Show up Sunday with your own plate, cup, utensils, hang out with nice people and eat good food.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 every week.

If you have doubts about your vegan chef abilities, don't worry. We've provided a list of recipe links, vegan info, and helpful resources to get you started. You can also check out our vegan cooking blog.

If you just happened across this blog and have no idea where to go, send us an e-mail (cristenrene@gmail.com) and we'll give you directions.

New Blog and Pictures

Hey all.
I'll be leaving at the end of September and traveling around the world for a year. We'll have one last big get together before I take off. Afterwards, I'm handing this blog over to Miguel (who will probably still host dinners periodically).

In the meantime, I'm working on a new site that I'll be updating during my trip. Check it out: CircleOurEarth.com
*I also have a vegan travel section and a vegan travel blog.

Here is a collection of photos from our Sunday dinners. It's been tons of fun and I'm happy so many people have come out to contribute. I'll miss you guys!

This Week (Sunday, August 17) = Picnic at the Lake!

It's my birthday!
And instead of having a potluck at Miguel's, we're having a picnic at the Lake!!

The picnic will be at Commons Ford Park.
For those of you who haven't been out there, it's located on Lake Austin and it has hiking trails, a dock, some picnic tables, a volleyball court, a big open field for running around, and apparently some waterfalls (although I doubt there will be waterfalls right now).

We'll be making some veggie burgers and seitan ribs to put on the grill.
Miguel will be making his famous salsa.
If you want to contribute anything else to the picnic, feel free.
If you don't, that's cool too.

The park is only open from 1 - 6, so the party vans will be taking off at 12:30 sharp.
If anyone wants to carpool, feel free to call or email:
cristenrene@gmail.com
512-731-8544

If you'd rather head out there on your own, here are directions:

From MoPac, head west on Bee Caves Road (FM 2244). Continue west on FM 2244 through the intersection with Capital of Texas Highway. Aproximately 3.5 miles after that intersection turn right on Cuernavaca Drive and then take your first left on Commons Ford Road. Continue down this road for and look for the entrance to the park on the left (there's a big sign). Parking is along the shoulder of the road. Look for a brown wind gauge and antenna on the left for an indication of where to park. As you head down the road near the parking area, you'll see a path on the right that leads to the water. Walk down the path and that's where we'll be.
614 Commons Ford Rd. 78733
Here is a map.

Hope to see you guys there!!!
